"weather patterns: rain & wind impulses & fluctuations"
(raga-like explorations of relationships in between "I" & the ReAlity)

This is not an album, but document sharing my attempts to find a way to tune-in within my sound environment through deep listening and live "interaction". It is a long-duration ongoing study / exercise; this time focused on observation of "weather patterns", especially rain and wind (as here in Ireland seems raining sometimes :-)). Exploring irrational sense of balance and energetic equilibrium of all contributing "forces", including the participation / active presence of "observer".

Do not listen this work as single album please, but rather listen each segment (especially tracks 1 - 5: evolved compositions based on live recordings) as separated variations on the subject; tracks 6 to 12 (about 4 hours of duration) are direct-to-mic live recordings, extracts where you can hear unfolding process of tuning_in.

Rather then to control my sound environment, I am trying to be equal part of the environment - on the same level as any other entity / event participating: elements as weather fluctuations, animal calls, my body movements, basically any sound I can hear, I am able to perceive. I am attempting to be equal participant, looking for equilibrium - my "own place" within this environment. As environment is evolving perpeputally, my sense of balance is changing equally - I am trying to find the balance of relationship in between "me" and the surrounding "reality" every moment as it unfolds. I am looking for connection with the flow of everchanging environment.

Set-up during exploration / study:
In my home studio, in eastern Clare in Ireland, I created a "system of listening" to my surrounding environments via various devices: (a) ambient microphones placed outdoors (b) contact microphone connected to resonant body of flexible steel spring - it works as reverberant "filter" - outdoors too (c) ultrasonic bat detector (d) emf detector etc. Combination of those allow me to listen and interact with sound environment in enhanced way - raising sensitivity to every minute details unfolding, every movement is audible. I am trying to "play" with everything i can hear in equal way. For that i am using modified fret-less 2-4 string instruments (as electric and acoustic guitar, ukulele), hole-less flutes "koncovka", various body-rattles (simple devices - as rattles from ppballs, little bells, plastic sheets "wings" etc - attached to my limbs and body) making "audible" movements of my body, complementary bubbling devices with hydrophone and stroboscopic lights used as "pulsating" sound generators.
