STORY 1:
Linda O’Keeffe & Slavek Kwi: Collaboration 2009 – 2012: Never-ending collaboration fulfilled finally after many aesthetical creative disagreements, finally finalized! Collaboration was based on working, re-working and re-re-working the same track over and over and over – blasting away each others touch and re-placing and re-re-placing with another touch, which will be polished and smoothed again and again and again ... many-many-many audio-layers got lost under other layers of sound-layers ... nobody will ever know what was on the beginning ...however, here we are, on the end of the world with amazing soundtrack for your upcoming absolutely brand new year beginning ...

STORY 2:
This mini-album came about as a result of a discussion between Slavek Kwi and Linda O Keeffe on the nature of sound collaborations, in 2008. Kwi and O Keeffe were interested in creating works of sound together, but deciding how one could do this, while working separately, was another matter. They finally decided in 2009 on a process, this work would operate in three stages. The first stage was the creation of 30 seconds of sound created by each artist; this sound clip would be sent to the other artist and extended to a 10-minute piece. No other sounds could be added to the work. This first stage allowed Kwi and O keeffe the opportunity to examine how one person could work with another persons work and see the end creation as a collective piece, a process of giving up ownership and being truly collaborative. These first works were created in 2010 and have since been played at various festivals as a work by O Keeffe and Kwi, and are also available to listen on each artists websites. The second stage began in 2010 and involved 30 minutes of potential space. One artist, Kwi, created a set of sounds; this included various field recordings – some heavily transformed, which were situated within the 30-minute space. This piece was then sent to O Keeffe, along with the original audio clips. She then added her own sounds to this space, reused some of Kwi’s sounds, altered some sections of the piece and sent this back to Kwi. This exchange of 30 minutes of sound occurred several times over a period of two years. There came a point when each artist felt the work was finished, mid summer of 2012. The last stage was editing this work to a finished piece. This process became more complex as each artist felt that there were sections within the 30 minutes that worked as separate pieces. A compromise followed, Kwi and O Keeffe finalised sections within the 30 minutes, which they felt worked as distinctive pieces of art/music. This resulted in one piece in two parts, Phasing In and Out of Voices and Days – finalised by Linda and Peeling Off Morfic Resonances, Patterns of Gestures and Articulations, Misleading Boundaries of Mimetism – finalised and shortened by Slavek.

Artificial Memory Trace is Slavek Kwi, a sound_artist loving sounds and interested in the phenomena of perception as the
fundamental determinant of relations with reality. He is fascinated by possibilities of extrasensory communication as potential for raising mutual sensitivity (see uni.Sol_ and alfa00 projects)
